Joomla 3.x compatibility

0
Will Business 2.0 work with Joomla 3.X? My 2.5 site has been running on Business 2.0 for quite some time now but looks like support for 2.5 is ending from Joomla. I am hoping I can upgrade without having to use a new theme.

    Hi Zatharis42,

Yes - you're in luck - Business 2.0 is compatible with Joomla 3. All you need to do is upgrade the site to Joomla 3.x and then install the new version on your site.
There is an update in the works that will further improve mobile compatibility and should be out soon, so would be recommended if you install that.

    Best,
    Zahir

The site I support is in the same situation as Zatharis42 using Business 2.0 template on a Joomla 2.5x site that will migrate to Joomla 3.x. I believe your suggestion was to wait until the Updated Business 2.0 template for Joomla 3.x is available before migrating the site. When may we expect the updated template so work can begin on planning the migration? Thank you. Doug

    Hi dadu7058,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you - the forums can be quiet over the weekend. As mentioned in the previous post, the current version of the template is compatible with Joomla 3. Feel free to download the template and install it directly onto your Joomla 3 site or use the Joomla 3 quickstart package to start afresh.

Please keep in mind that the migration to Joomla may not keep all your old template parameters and customisations - so those may need to be setup/restored manually. Other than that, it should be a straight forward install.

    Hi zatharis42,

The current version of the template is compatible with Joomla 3.x - it was updated earlier this year.
